1. You need this to see the laser beam outdoors.

2. Place the laser on a tripod and turn it on.

3.Aim the leveling laser at the location where you want to take a measurement. Once you find it, lock the laser in position.

4. Bring the laser receiver to where you want to take a measurement. Either use the magnet that comes with the laser receiver or place it on a flat surface at the same height as the laser level. A second tripod is a good option here.

5. Move the laser receiver slowly until it detects the laser beam from the spirit level. Once you find the beam, lock the receiver (if it's on a tripod or ruler) or stabilize it (if it's on a flat surface or attached with a magnet).

6. Use the spirit level and receiver (e.g. LR-5RG/LR06RG) to find the desired orientation or water level.
